🐾 190+ Animals. One Woman. One Dream.

They Survived the Streets —
Now They Deserve a Real Home

In Indonesia, hundreds of dogs and cats are abandoned every single day. Since 2019, Amy Sukmana has rescued and cared for over 190 of them — out of her own pocket, in rented spaces that could disappear at any time. Now we're building something permanent. And we need your help.

From the Streets to a Life Worth Living

Omah Ogel was founded by Amy Sukmana — a remarkable woman who has devoted her life to rescuing abandoned, sick, and elderly animals in Depok, West Java, Indonesia. With no government funding and no corporate backing, she has kept this sanctuary running entirely on compassion and community support.

🚨
The Urgent Problem: The shelter operates in rented spaces and has relocated multiple times — causing stress and instability for the animals.
🐾
190 Lives Depending on Us: 150 dogs and 40+ cats need a stable, permanent home where they can heal and thrive.
🌱
The Land is Ready: A ±1,051 m² plot in Bogor Regency has been prepared. Every dollar you donate goes directly to construction — not land purchase.

From the People Who Know Her Best

Friends, volunteers, and fellow animal lovers share their experience with the woman behind Omah Ogel.

"

I've known Amy for years, and what she does is nothing short of extraordinary. She gives everything — her time, her money, her heart — to animals that the world forgot. I've never met anyone with such pure, unconditional love for creatures who can't speak for themselves.

When my dog was injured and I had nowhere to turn, Amy helped us immediately — no questions, no fees, just pure kindness. She has this quiet strength that makes you believe everything will be okay. Omah Ogel wouldn't exist without that energy.

I volunteered at Omah Ogel for three months and it changed my life. Amy works from sunrise to midnight, 7 days a week, never complaining. She treats every single animal as if it were the most important being in the world. That's rare. That's real.

Amy rescued a paralyzed dog that three vets had already given up on. She nursed him back to health over five months with zero budget. He's now living with a lovely family in Bandung. That's the kind of person she is — she simply refuses to give up.

We adopted two cats from Omah Ogel last year. Amy spent two hours with us making sure we were the right fit — she cares that much. Six months later she still checks in on our cats. The love doesn't stop when they leave the shelter. It follows them home.
